Service Puppy Training
FORMAT
Puppy classes are available after vaccinations are complete and classes are divided by the appropriate age.
DURATION
Handlers will complete eight sessions in no more than 12 weeks.
AGES
Eight weeks to 1 year.
REQUIREMENTS
Proof of vaccination for public locations.
PUPPY SKILLS
Potty training, proper socialization, kennel training, touch, sit, down, come, stay, heel (loose leash walking/leash manners), drop, and working through fear.
HUMAN SKILLS
Reinforcement (intentional and unintentional), use of the clicker and other training tools, handling chewing, environmental safeguards, consistency, homework, problem-solving, and understanding puppy body language.
The AKC S.T.A.R Puppy evaluation is an option after six consecutive training classes.
